Shangsi County, under the jurisdiction of Fangchenggang City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, at the northern foot of 100,000 mountains, between 107°33 '~ 108°16' east longitude and 21°44 '~ 22°22' north latitude. It is adjacent to Jiangnan District and Liangqing District of Nanning City, Ningming County and Fusui County of Chongzuo City and Qinbei District of Qinzhou City. The county is 68.1 kilometers long from east to west and 49.5 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 2,816 square kilometers, accounting for 1.2% of the total area of the autonomous region. In 2011, the Tourism Ecology Committee of the Chinese Ecological Society awarded Shangsi County the title of "Oxygen Capital of China". In March 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of counties under protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics.
