Luzhou, known as "Jiangyang" in ancient times, also known as Jiucheng and Jiangcheng, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, a regional central city in China, a regional central city in the combination of Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan and Guizhou, a central city in the southern wing of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, an important trade and logistics center, and an important port city in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Luzhou is a famous national historical and cultural city with a history of more than two thousand years. In the Western Han Dynasty, the Marquis of Jiangyang was established. In the reign of Datong of Emperor Wudi of Liang, Luzhou was built. In the Song Dynasty, Luzhou was the capital of southwest China, and in the Ming Dynasty, it was one of the 33 commercial metropolitons in China. It has formed five characteristic tourism resources represented by famous wine culture, ecological culture, red culture, historical culture and Yangtze River culture. Luzhou is one of the seven regional central cities cultivated and expanded in Sichuan Province. It is the second largest container terminal in the middle and upper reaches of Yangtze River and the third largest airport in Sichuan Province. In 2021, the GDP of Luzhou reached 240.608 billion yuan, an increase of 8.5% over the previous year based on comparable prices.
