Xingwen County, belonging to Yibin City of Sichuan Province, is located in the southeast of Yibin City, adjacent to Xuyong County in the southeast, Weixin County of Yunnan Province in the south, Gongxian County in the west, Changning County in the northwest, and Naxi District of Jiang 'an and Luzhou City in the north. It covers a total area of 1379.89 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 8 towns and 4 townships.

Xingwen County has a long history and is a place where ancient Bo people thrive and die. It has the largest population of the Miao people in Sichuan Province. It is the main cradle of the early revolution in South Sichuan, the route for the Red Army to travel north to fight against Japanese aggression, and the main source and battleground of the Red Army guerrilla column in the Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou border area.
