Lushan County, which belongs to Ya 'an City of Sichuan Province, is located in the western edge of Sichuan Basin, northeast of Ya 'an City and upstream of Qingyi River. It is a county heavily affected by the May 12 Wenchuan Earthquake and April 20 Lushan Earthquake. The county covers an area of 1,191.14 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 6 towns, 1 township, 1 subdistrict, 33 villages (communities) and 238 village (resident) groups. The county is 33 kilometers away from Ya 'an and 156 kilometers away from Chengdu. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Lushan County was 99,824.
