Liupanshui, also known as Liangdu, is a prefectural city under the jurisdiction of Guizhou Province. It is located in the Wumeng Mountain area of western Guizhou, the junction of Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, the upstream watershed of Yangtze River and Pearl River, and the two sides of Nanpan River and Beipan River basin. It is an important railway hub city and one of the logistics distribution centers in southwest China. Liupanshui has a cool, comfortable, moist and fresh climate with moderate ultraviolet radiation. It has been awarded the title of "Cool Capital of China" by the Chinese Meteorological Society and is a city named after its climatic characteristics.
