Yongsheng County, under the jurisdiction of Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province, in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, in the middle of Lijiang City, in Yongbei Town, the county seat, with an area of 4952 square kilometers. By 2021, it has jurisdiction over 9 towns and 6 townships, 151 village (neighborhood) committees, and 1419 village groups. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent resident population of Yongsheng County was 336832.

Yongsheng County is located in two geomorphic units, Hengduan Mountains and Northwest Yunnan Plateau, and belongs to the marginal area of three parallel rivers. The climate is dominated by the northern subtropical mountain monsoon climate. It is known as "granary of Northwest Yunnan" and "land of fish and rice". Chenghai Lake, Hongshiya National Ancient Earthquake Site, Sanchuanba Pastoral Scenery, Lingyuanqing and other natural landscapes, as well as Biantun Culture and other cultural landscapes. Featured products include dried spirulina powder, Liudeliu black-bone chicken, Taliu baba, Sanchuan ham and water shortcake.

In 2020, Yongsheng County achieved a GDP of 10.41005 billion yuan, an increase of 1.7% year on year. The per capita disposable income of urban permanent residents was 30860 yuan, an increase of 3.7% year on year. The per capita disposable income of rural permanent residents was 13174 yuan, an increase of 8.9% year on year. Yongsheng County has successively won the honorary titles of the beautiful county seat in Yunnan Province.
