Biba County, under the jurisdiction of Qamdo City, Tibet Autonomous Region, is located in the east of Tibet Autonomous Region, west of Qamdo City, at the southern foot of Nianqing Tanggula Mountains, bordered by three cities and six counties (it borders Luolong County in the east, Dingqing County in the north, Bomi County in Nyingchi City in the south, and Jiali County, Such as County and Suo County in Nagqu City in the west). The climate of Biba County belongs to the plateau temperate sub-humid climate type, with low temperature, sufficient sunlight, large daily temperature difference and so on. Bian Ba means "torch" and "auspicious glory, auspicious flame" in Tibetan. Its predecessor was Bian Ba, Shading two Zong (Zong equivalent to the present county) before the peaceful liberation of Tibet. In January 1960, Bian Ba Zong and Shading Zong merged into Bian Ba County. In May of the same year, the Biba County government was established, and in June, the CPC Biba County Committee was established. In November 2014, Qamdo was set up as a city and Bianba County was under the jurisdiction of Qamdo City. In 2020, the GDP of Bianba County reached 1,139.26 million yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 10.10%, and the investment in fixed assets increased by -4.71%. General budget revenue of local governments reached 57.88 million yuan, up 5.56% year-on-year, of which 36.71 million yuan was collected from local taxes and 21.17 million yuan was collected from non-tax revenue. The per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 13,104 yuan, up 17.81 percent year on year; The disposable income of urban residents reached 34,392 yuan, up 10.20 percent year on year.
