Nedong County (Nedong County) generally refers to Nedong District
NaiDong area, belonging to the Tibet autonomous region of the People's Republic of China south city, is located in the central and southern Tibet autonomous region, south mountain, the mountain, the yarlung zangbo river middle reaches, is home to the south of the municipal people's government. In Tibetan, it means "before the tip of Elephant trunk Mountain".

The geographical coordinates of Naidong District are between 28°44 '~ 29°36' north latitude and 91°32 '~ 92°02' east longitude. It borders Zabang County in the west, Mozhukongka County in Lhasa in the north, Qiongjie County, Longzi County and Cuomei County in the south, and Sangri County and Qusong County in the east, with a total area of 2208.85 square kilometers and a north-south border of 94.4 kilometers. With a width of 31.2 kilometers from east to west, the central part is in the shape of a long strip. It is an area that developed agriculture and animal husbandry earlier in the Tibet Autonomous Region and is known as the granary of Tibet. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Neidong District was 81,608 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.

In 2020, the gross domestic product of Naidong District reached 6.238 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 9%; The investment in fixed assets was 6.1 billion yuan (including municipal direct investment), up 46.1% year on year; The fiscal revenue reached 340 million yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 100%, ranking first in the city; Total retail sales of consumer goods reached 4.45 billion yuan, down 4.4% year-on-year; The per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 18,889 yuan, up 12.7 percent year on year.

In February 2016, The State Council approved the cancellation of Naidong County and the establishment of Naidong District. On June 5, 2016, Naidong District was officially established. In October 2017, Naidong District passed the national special evaluation and inspection, and was officially approved by the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county. On September 25, 2018, Naidong District won the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce.
