Zayang County is subordinate to Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, located in the south central Tibet, the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River. It is located between 90°03 '~ 90°38' east longitude and 28°27 '~ 29°34' north latitude. It borders Neidong and Qiongjie counties in the east, Gongga County in the west, Cuomei County and Langkazi County in the south, and Lhasa Chengguan District and Dazi District in the north. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Zayang County was 36,656.
