Zayang County is subordinate to Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, located in the south central Tibet, the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River. It is located between 90°03 '~ 90°38' east longitude and 28°27 '~ 29°34' north latitude. It borders Neidong and Qiongjie counties in the east, Gongga County in the west, Cuomei County and Langkazi County in the south, and Lhasa Chengguan District and Dazi District in the north. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Zayang County was 36,656.

Zabang County covers an area of 2,173 square kilometers. The arable land is about 67,000 mu. Jurisdiction over 2 towns, 3 townships, 63 villages. County people's government in Zhatang town. Famous products include potato, mixed jade pottery, bamboo forest, Tibetan incense, Tibetan tables and cabinets, fresco sculpture, zabao Jiangwen, Jili Ru pulu, etc.
In 2020, the GDP of Zayang County reached 1.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 5.9%.
On February 6, 2019, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region decided to withdraw Zabang County from poverty. On December 6, 2019, it was selected as a pilot unit to promote the quality improvement of farmer cooperatives in the whole county.
