Qusong County is located in Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, between 92°7 '-92°12' east longitude and 29°18 '-29°42' north latitude. Located in the north of the Himalayas, the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, north of Sangri County, south of Longzi County, east of Jiacha County, west of Naidong District. Qusong, which means "three rivers" in Tibetan. Because of the Sebu River, Jiangzha River, Kampo River through the county, the three rivers in Tibetan translated as "Qusong", Qusong County hence the name. With a total area of 1967 square kilometers and an average altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level, the county seat Zhuokang is 3,896 meters above sea level. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Qusong County was 12,962 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.
In 2019, Qusong County completed fiscal revenue of 60.85 million yuan, down 2.5 percent year on year. Among them, tax revenue reached 45.23 million yuan, up 15.91% year on year, accounting for 74.3% of local fiscal revenue. Non-tax revenue reached 15.62 million yuan, down 33.3% year on year, accounting for 25.7% of local fiscal revenue.
In October 2018, the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region officially approved the withdrawal of Qusong County from poverty.
