Cona county, meaning "in the front of the lake. It is under the jurisdiction of Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is located in the south of Tibet Autonomous Region and the southern foot of the Himalayan Mountains, between 91°28 '-94°22' east longitude and 26°25 '-28°27' north latitude. It is one of the border counties of Tibet Autonomous Region, bordering Bhutan to the west and India to the south. The total area of the county is 35,512 square kilometers.

In 2019, the regional GDP of Cena County was 713.9 million yuan, the added value of the primary industry was 26.78 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 341.86 million yuan, and the general public budget revenue was 40.65 million yuan. It received 8,886 tourists from home and abroad and generated 5,198,05 million yuan. In 2019, there were 15,675 registered residents in the county. In October 2020, it was rated as the national model city (county) of double support.
