Lazi County is located in the southwest of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, in the middle of Shigatse City and the westernmost part of Nianqing Tanggula Mountain. East longitude 87°24 '-88°21', north latitude 28°47 '-29°37'. It is connected to Saga County in the east, Dingri County in the southwest, Angren County in the west, and Xetongmen County in the north.
East of the county government is 150 kilometers from Shigatse City and 276 kilometers from Lhasa via Shigatse. The county is about 69 kilometers long from east to west and 98 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 4505 square kilometers. Lazi County has jurisdiction over 9 townships and 2 towns (105 villages). By the end of 2020, the total population of Lazi County is 65,829.
On December 7, 2016, Lazi County was listed as the third batch of national comprehensive pilot areas for new urbanization. On January 9, 2019, Razdui Harmony was selected into the list of "The Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art" from 2018 to 2020.
