Nyima County is a county under the jurisdiction of Nagqu City of Tibet Autonomous Region. It is located in the north of Tibet Autonomous Region and northwest of Nagqu City. It borders Shigatse City in the south, Shuanghu County and Shenzha County in the east, and Geze County in the west. The average altitude is above 5,000 meters. It belongs to the semi-arid monsoon climate of the plateau subcold zone and the arid climate of the plateau cold zone. The air is thin and snowy, with an average annual temperature of -4℃ and annual precipitation of 150 mm. The administrative area is 72,530 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 1 town, 13 townships and 77 administrative villages. County government in Nyima Town. Nyima means "sun" in Tibetan.

As of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Nima County was 33,006. In 2019, Nyima County achieved a gross regional product of 908.05 million yuan.

Nima County economy based on animal husbandry, is a pure animal husbandry county.
On December 9, 2019, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region approved the withdrawal of Nyima County from the poverty-stricken county (district).
