Gaoling county/ District, subordinate to Xi 'an, Shanxi Province, is located in the north of Xi 'an, bordering Lintong District in the east, Weiyang District and Baqiao District in the south, Weicheng District, Sanyuan County and Jingyang County in the west, and Yanliang District in the north, with an area of 294 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Gaoling District has jurisdiction over seven subdistricts. By the end of 2021, the permanent population of Gaoling District was 457,500.

Gaoling District is known as the cabbage heart of Guanzhong Plain. In the Neolithic Age, there were ancestors here to multiply and live. In Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties, Gaoling was the land of Jinggi. On December 13, 2014, Gaoling District of Xi 'an was established. In June 2020, Gaoling District was rated by Xiaokang magazine as one of the top 100 cities and counties most suitable for real estate in China in 2020.

In 2021, Gaoling District's GDP reached 38.472 billion yuan, with per capita disposable income of 34,740 yuan.
