Minqin County, a county under the jurisdiction of Wuwei City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Hexi Corridor and the lower reaches of Shiyang River basin, bordering Liangzhou District in the south, connecting Jinchang City in the southwest, and surrounded by Badain Jilin and Tengger deserts in the east, west and north. As of February 2020, the total area of the county is 15800 square kilometers, with 18 towns and 248 villages under its jurisdiction. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of the county was 178470.

Minqin has a long history. As early as 2800 years ago, human beings lived and multiplied and created a splendid "Shajing Culture". In 121 BC, Huo Qubing led his troops to recover Hexi and set up a county here. In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), it was renamed Minqin with the name of "simple and honest customs, industrious people". It is a famous "hometown of culture" and "famous county of education" in Gansu Province.

The combination of light, heat, water and soil resources in Minqin is superior, and the quality and quantity of green organic agricultural products are large. It is recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture as the "National County of Vegetable Industry", and the first batch of "Organic Product Certification Demonstration Zone" in Gansu Province. It is honored by the China Food Industry Association and the China Vegetable Circulation Association as the "township of mutton sheep in China", "township of honey melon in China", "township of anise in China" and "township of ginseng and fruit in China". The county is rich in wind energy resources and huge in solar energy reserves. The county has rich and unique tourism resources, including Hongyashan Reservoir, the largest desert reservoir in Asia, Shiyang River National Wetland Park, Qingtu Lake, Ruianbao, Tengger and Badain Jilin deserts, which intersect one county, creating the wonders of "sand sea oasis, oasis and blue sea".

In 2021, the county's GDP will be 9.124 billion yuan, an increase of 9.7%, the investment in fixed assets will increase by 6.63%, the actual investment in investment will be 4.154 billion yuan, an increase of 11.64%, the budget revenue of general public finance will be 331 million yuan, a decrease of 16.34%, the total retail sales of social consumer goods will be 2.116 billion yuan, an increase of 12.1%, the per capita disposable income of urban residents will be 29074 yuan, an increase of 6.9%, and the per capita disposable income of rural residents will be 17059 yuan, an increase of 10.3%.
