Lintao County, known as Didao in ancient times, is subordinate to Dingxi City, Gansu Province. It is named after the Tao River in the territory. Lintao County is located in the central part of Gansu Province and the western part of Dingxi City. It is located at the intersection of the Loess Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The largest tributary of the upper reaches of the Yellow River, the Tao River, passes through the city. The total area of the county is 2851 square kilometers. Lintao is the south gate of Lanzhou, the provincial capital. The county seat is 80 kilometers away from the urban area of Lanzhou. It is an important node city in the "Lanbai Economic Zone".
