Dari County is a county under the jurisdiction of Guoluo Prefecture of Qinghai Province, located in the southeast of Qinghai Province, in the south of Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture at the junction of Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai provinces. It borders Jiuzhi County in the east, Banma County in the southeast, Seda County of Sichuan Province in the south and Shiqu County of Sichuan Province in the southwest, Maduo County in the northwest, and Maqin and Gander County across the Yellow River in the north. With a total area of 14,800 square kilometers, the county has jurisdiction over 9 townships, 1 town, 33 animal husbandry committees, 109 animal husbandry cooperatives and 1 poverty alleviation association. By the end of 2019, the registered population of Dari County was 38,004.
With an average altitude of 4200 meters above sea level, Dari County has an alpine and subhumid climate. It is one of the natural ecological protection and management areas of "Three Rivers Source", and also an important transportation hub in Guoluo Prefecture, second only to the state capital (Dawu), the distribution center of Chinese and Tibetan medicinal materials and the junction of Qingchuan.
On April 21, 2020, the People's Government of Qinghai Province issued an announcement, agreeing to withdraw Dari County from the list of poverty-stricken counties. In October 2020, it was awarded as the 2019 Advanced Group in Poverty alleviation.
In 2020, the county achieved a gross regional product of 446.75 million yuan, a year-on-year growth of 1.7%.
