Wuqia County is located in the western part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the northern part of Pamir, the western end of Tarim Basin, and the junction of the southern foot of the Tianshan Mountains and the Kunlun Mountains. It is adjacent to Atushi City in the east, Shufu County in the southeast, Aktau County in the southwest, and Kyrgyz Republic in the northwest. Wuqia Town, the county seat, is 1500 kilometers away from Urumqi. Wuqia County is located at the junction of the southern foot of the Tianshan Mountains and the Kunlun Mountains. It is adjacent to Atushi City and Shufu County in the east, Aktau County in the south, and Kyrgyzstan in the northwest (410 km long border line). It is 180 kilometers long from east to west, 160 kilometers wide from south to north, and covers an administrative area of 22000 square kilometers.
