Chabuchar Sibo Autonomous County is located in the west of the former Ili region plate of the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang, China. It is located in the south of the Ili River and the northern foot of the Wusun Mountains, a branch of the Tianshan Mountains. It faces Yining, the capital of the Ili Prefecture, across the river, and connects to the city of Kektala and Kazakhstan in the west. Founded in 1954, Chabuchar County is the only autonomous county in China with Xibe as the main body and multi-ethnic communities. The administrative area is 4469 square kilometers.
