Shuangyashan City is located in northeast China and northeast Heilongjiang Province, with low hills at the north foot of Wandashan Mountain Range, vast hinterland of Sanjiang Plain in the north, continuous mountains in the south, with a high terrain in the southwest and low in the northeast, facing Russia across the Ussuri River in the east.

Within 300 kilometers around Shuangyashan, there are 6 national first-class ports to Russia, including Raohe, Suibin, Luobei, Tongjiang, Fuyuan and Fujin. Located in the core location of Heilongjiang Province's opening to the Far East of Russia, Shuangyashan is an important node city in the construction of "China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor".
