Bailang County, located in the south of the Tibet Autonomous Region, is under the jurisdiction of Xigaze City of the Tibet Autonomous Region. It is located at 28°17 '-29°18' north latitude and 88°53 '-89°25' east longitude. The total area is 2759 square kilometers.

Bailang County, 49 kilometers north of Shigatse City, has jurisdiction over 11 townships (towns) and 111 administrative villages, with an average altitude of 4200 meters, and the county seat is located 3890 meters above sea level. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Bailang County was 44,564 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.

In 2020, the GDP of Bailang County reached 1.374 billion yuan, an increase of 8% year-on-year.
In December 2019, it became a pilot unit for the construction of the country's rural governance system.
