Dalhanmao Mingan Joint Banner is under the jurisdiction of Baotou City of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, abbreviated as "Damao Banner", located in northern Xinjiang of China, is one of the 19 border flags (cities) and 23 animal husbandry flags of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 150 kilometers and 160 kilometers away from Hohhot and Baotou city respectively, north bordering East Gobi Province of Mongolia. In January 1996, the former Ulanqab League was put under the jurisdiction of Baotou City, becoming the only border flag county in Baotou. The administrative area is 18,117 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 7 towns, 2 townships and 3 Sumu, with a total population of 120,000 (among which 18,300 are ethnic minorities).

Dalhanmao Mingan Union Banner has a border of 88.6 kilometers long and Mandura-Hangji estuary open to the north. It has 16,600 square kilometers of natural pasture and 662,000 mu of arable land. It is rich in agricultural and livestock products, mainly fresh milk, potatoes, beef and mutton, fur and wool, etc. There are a large amount of iron, rare earth, coal, petroleum and other resources underground, and 33 kinds of metallic and non-metallic mineral deposits have been discovered. There are Wulanqab rock paintings and Aolun Sumu City ruins which confirm the Mongolian Yuan culture.

In 2016, the gross domestic product of Dalhanmao Mingan United Banner reached 21.283 billion yuan, up 7.3% year on year. In 2019, the GDP of Dalhanmao Mingan United Banner was 9205.44 million yuan, the added value of the primary industry was 1.454.27 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 488.732 million yuan, the general public budget revenue was 556.99 million yuan, and the general public budget expenditure was 204.597 million yuan.

In March 2019, it was announced by the Ministry of Water Resources as one of the first counties (districts) to reach the standard of water-saving social construction.

In July 2020, the National Association for the Protection of Health recognized Dalhanmao Mingan United Banner as the National Health County in 2019.
