Danzhai County, under the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. It is located between 107°44 '-108°08' east longitude and 26°05 '-26°26' north latitude, in the southeast of Guizhou Province, bordering Leishan County in the east, Sandu Shui Autonomous County in the south, Duyun City and Majang County in the west, and Kaili City in the north. The county has jurisdiction over 3 towns and 4 townships and 1 state farm. There are 21 ethnic minorities such as Miao, Shui and Buyi living in compact communities within the county. It covers an area of 940 square kilometers. County people's government in Longquan Town. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Danzhai County was 138,642 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.

Seven projects in Danzhai County, including Miao batik, ancient papermaking, Miao golden Chicken dance, Miao oral classic "Jia", Miao Nian, Miao costume, and Miao awn drum Lushan sacrificial music and dance, have been listed as national intangible cultural heritage protection by The State Council.
