Datong County (Datong County, Datong City, Shanxi Province) generally refers to Yunzhou District

Yunzhou District, subordinate to Datong City of Shanxi Province, is located in the north of Shanxi Province. It borders Xinrong District, Pingcheng District and Yungang District of this City on the west, Yanggao County on the northeast, Hunyuan County and Huairen City on the south and southwest. The total area is 1478 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Yunzhou district was 151,087.

On December 15, 2017, Yunzhou District of Datong City was awarded the title of "International Health and Wellness Base" by the Health and Environment Committee of the International Geographic Union. On April 18, 2019, the People's Government of Shanxi Province approved Yunzhou District to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county. In 2019, it was listed as the second batch of national agricultural product quality safety county.

In 2019, the gross domestic product of Yunzhou District reached 12,455.69 million yuan, an increase of 8.3% over the previous year.

On June 4, 2021, Yunzhou District was listed in the pilot county list for water system connectivity and Shuimei rural construction in 2021.
