Dengkou County, under the jurisdiction of Bayan Nur City, Inner Mongolia, is located in east longitude 106°9 '~107°10', north latitude 40°9 '~40°57'. Located in the southwest of Bayannur City. It borders Hangjin Houqi in the east, Urat Houqi in the north, Alxa Right Banner in the west, and Hangjin Banner in Ordos City across the Yellow River in the south. It covers an area of 4,166.6 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 4 towns and 1 Sumu: Bayangaole Town, Longshenghe Town, Dukou Town, Bulongnuo Town, Shajintao Sea Sumu Town.

According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Dengkou county was 90,196.

In 2017, the GDP of Dengkou County was 4.607 billion yuan. On July 27, 2018, it was approved by the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to quit the poverty-stricken county. In 2019, the GDP of Dengkou County reached 5.409 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 6.4%.
