Deqing County, under the jurisdiction of Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the northern part of Zhejiang Province, facing Shanghai in the east, Hangzhou in the south, Taihu Lake in the north, Tianmu Mountain in the west, and the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta. The terrain inclines from west to east, showing a north subtropical monsoon climate. The annual climate features four distinct seasons, sufficient light, abundant rainfall and humid temperature. With a total area of 936 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 8 towns and 5 subdistricts. According to the seventh census data, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Deqing County was 548,600.

Deqing County has a long history with relics of Liangzhu culture and legends of ancient Fengfeng culture.
