Deqing County, subordinate to Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, is located on the north bank of the middle reaches of the West River in the central part of Guangdong Province. It faces the West River in the south and faces Yunan County and Yun'an District of Yunfu City across the river. It covers an area of 2003 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 13 towns (streets) and 193 villages (houses). In the sixth year of the Yuanding reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), a county was established, named Duanxi County, which is one of the 15 ancient counties of the Qin and Han dynasties in Guangdong. In the seventh year of Yonghe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (451), Jinkang County was established, and in the fifth year of Wude in the Tang Dynasty (622), Nankang Prefecture was established. Song Daguan was promoted to Wangjun in 1110. In the first year of Shaoxing in the Song Dynasty (1131), Zhao Gouyin, Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty, once took Kangzhou as the hidden residence, and ordered to be upgraded to Deqing Mansion, which was renamed Deqing Mansion, and the name of Deqing remained in use.
