Duan Yao Autonomous County

Du 'an Yao Autonomous County, located in Hechi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the eastern section of Duyang Mountain range, on the slope of the transition from Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to Guangxi Basin. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. It is one of the most typical areas for karst landforms in China. With a total area of 4095 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 10 towns and 9 townships and 248 villagers (community) committees. The county people's government is located in Anyang Town, 120 kilometers away from Nanning City and Hechi City. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Du 'an Yao Autonomous County was 538,061.

Du 'an County was one of the first "counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics".
On November 20, 2020, the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved Du 'an County to be removed from the poverty-stricken county list.
