Duolun County, under the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Xilin Gol League, is located in the south of Xilin Gol League, the north foot of the eastern end of Yin Mountain. East longitude 115°30 '-116°55', North latitude 41°45 '-42°39'. To the west it borders Zhenglan Banner, to the north it borders Keshiketenqi in Chifeng City, and to the south it borders Guyuan County, Fengning County and Weichang County. The total area is 3863 square kilometers. As of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of the county was 103,736 (7th census).

In 2011, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Xilin Gol League government approved the construction of the central city. County people's government in Duolennuer Town.

In 2008, it was awarded the honorary title of Chinese Historical and Cultural Town, and in 2010, it was awarded the honorary title of National Characteristic Landscape Tourism Town. In September 2018, it won the title of "China Natural Oxygen Bar". On April 18, 2019, the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region decided to remove Duolun County from the poverty flag.

In 2020, the GDP of Duolun County reached 4.79 billion yuan, down by 1.6%.
