Feicheng, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Tai 'an City in Shandong Province, is located in the middle of Shandong Province, at the west foot of Mount Tai. It borders Daiyue District of Tai 'an City in the east, Dongping County of Tai 'an City and Pingyin County of Jinan City in the west, faces Ningyang County of Tai 'an City and Wenshang County of Jining City across the river in the south, and is bounded by mountains in the north by Changqing District of Jinan City. The total area is 1277 square kilometers. According to the seventh National census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, Feicheng had a permanent population of 894,115.

In the Western Zhou Dynasty, the Fat people dispersed here, which was called the Country of Fat Zi in ancient times, hence the name Feicheng. Feicheng County was set up in the early Western Han Dynasty. It has a history of more than 2,200 years. It is the hometown of Zuo Qiuming, the "sage of history" and Fan Li, the "sage of commerce", living in seclusion and doing business. There are various landforms in Feicheng City. The terrain slopes from northeast to southwest. The highest point is 600 meters above sea level, while the lowest point is 57.7 meters above sea level. Feicheng is a warm zone continental monsoon climate zone, four distinct seasons.

By the end of 2018, it had jurisdiction over 10 towns, 4 subdistricts and 605 village (residents) committees.

In 2020, Feicheng achieved a gross domestic product of 72.15 billion yuan; In 2021, the city's GDP will reach 77.09 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7%.

In October 2021, it was selected into the "2021 Top 100 Counties and Cities of China Smart Cities" list.
