Fengjie County, subordinate to Chongqing, is the east gate of Chongqing, located in the heart of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area of the Yangtze River, adjacent to Wushan County in the east, Enshi City in Hubei Province in the south, Yunyang County in the west, and Wuxi County in the north. It has jurisdiction over 29 towns, 4 sub-district offices, 314 administrative villages, and 78 communities, covering an area of 4098 square kilometers. By the end of 2021, Fengjie County has a permanent population of 747300.

Fengjie is a mountainous landform in the east of the Sichuan Basin. The Yangtze River runs through the middle, with undulating mountains and ravines. There are tourism resources such as Kuimen, Baidi City and Qutang Gorge. Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway passes through the territory, and there is Fengjie Station in the territory.

In 2021, the regional GDP of Fengjie County will be 37.254 billion yuan, an increase of 8.4% on a year-on-year basis.
