Fengshan County belongs to Hechi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located in the southern edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The terrain slopes from northwest to southeast, with more mountains and less land. It is a subtropical monsoon climate zone with abundant rainfall, sufficient sunlight, mild and humid, with an annual average temperature of 20.1℃, annual rainfall of 1564.0 mm, and a frost-free period of 362 days. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Fengshan County was 169,845 as of midnight on November 1, 2020. It covers an area of 1729 square kilometers.

In 2020, the GDP of Fengshan County reached 2.855 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 1.1%.
The territory is rich in forest product resources, mainly fir, oil, oil tea, star anise and chestnut, is Guangxi's main star anise production area and one of the forest production base counties. Mineral resources are gold, pyrite, sulfur ore, pyrite, limonite, copper, antimony and rich marble. The county 11 towns, 9 towns have gold mining, has the "hometown of gold" reputation.

On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce. In March 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of counties under protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. In November 2019, Fengshan County was named "Four Good Rural Road" national demonstration county.
On May 9, 2020, it was approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Autonomous Region to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county list. On October 9, 2020, it was awarded the fourth batch of national ecological civilization Construction demonstration City and county title by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
