Fengxian County, subordinate to Baoji City of Shanxi Province, is located in the southwest of Shanxi Province, adjacent to Taibai County in the east, Liuba County and Mian County of Hanzhong City in the south, Liangtang County of Gansu Province in the west, and Chencang District and Weibin District in the north, between 33°34 '57 "-- 34°18' 21" and 106°24 '54 "-- 107°7' 30" in the east. The total area is 3187 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over nine towns. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Fengxian was 79,165 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.

Fengxian County, known as "Fengzhou" in ancient times, was the only way from Chang 'an to Bashu. It was also known as "the throat of Qin and Shu and the key of North Han". The ancient Road, Lianyun and Baoxie three plank roads passed through the county. There are three 4A scenic spots and three 3A scenic spots within the territory. More than 100 kinds of metallic deposits such as lead, zinc, gold and non-metallic deposits such as silicon have been proved. Among the 14 provincial-level integrated exploration areas determined by the prospecting breakthrough strategy in Shanxi Province, Fengxian County dominates the second place. It is one of the four lead and zinc bases in China and the Gold Ton Gold County in Shanxi Province. It is the hometown of prickly ash in China, the largest artificial training base of forest musk deer, and the mountain apple base county of Shanxi Province.

In 2021, the GDP of Fengxian County reached 9.15 billion yuan, the total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 3.094 billion yuan, the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 14,771 yuan, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 36,761 yuan, and the local fiscal revenue was 217.96 million yuan.
