Fuquan City, known as Kelan in ancient times, is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province. It is located in the central part of Guizhou Province, between 26°32 '28 "--27°02' 23" north latitude and 107°14 '24 "--107°45' 35" east longitude. The longest is 55.2 km from north to south and the widest is 52.1 km from east to west. The total area is 1688 square kilometers.

Fuquan Municipality has jurisdiction over 2 subdistricts, 5 towns and 1 township (including 16 neighborhood committees and 60 village committees). According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Fuquan was 297,899 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.

Fuquan has the reputation of "Phosphorus Capital of Asia", "Land of fruit" and "Famous cultural city".

In March 2020, Fuquan City won the title of "Advanced County in the National Village Cleaning Action" and was praised by the Central Agriculture Office and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In 2020, Fuquan's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 19.178 billion yuan.
