Gao 'an, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Yichun City in Jiangxi Province, is located in the northwest of central Jiangxi Province and the west of Nanchang City, belonging to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River plain, 42 kilometers away from Nanchang, covering an area of 2,439.33 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, Gao 'an has jurisdiction over 2 subdistricts, 21 towns and 1 reclamation farm. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Gao 'an was 744,694.

Gao 'an County was established in the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu's reign in Han Dynasty (201 BC), and in the fifth year of Wude's reign in Tang Dynasty (622 BC). In order to avoid the name of Prince Li Jiancheng, Gao 'an county was renamed Gao 'an City in 1993. Gao 'an is China's advanced grain production county [3], China's pig transfer county, China's pollution-free vegetable production base, China's automobile transportation city, China's building ceramic industry base, and the hometown of Chinese calligraphy. Gao 'an has Bafluo Ecological Valley scenic spot, Hualin Zhai-Shangyou Lake scenic area, Yuan Blue and White Museum, Jia Jia Ancient Village and other scenic spots.
In 2021, Gao 'an achieved a gross regional product of 52.996 billion yuan and a total fiscal revenue of 5.985 billion yuan.
