Gao 'an, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Yichun City in Jiangxi Province, is located in the northwest of central Jiangxi Province and the west of Nanchang City, belonging to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River plain, 42 kilometers away from Nanchang, covering an area of 2,439.33 square kilometers. Gao 'an County was established in the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu's reign in Han Dynasty (201 BC), and in the fifth year of Wude's reign in Tang Dynasty (622 BC). In order to avoid the name of Prince Li Jiancheng, Gao 'an county was renamed Gao 'an City in 1993.
