Hangjin Houqi is located in the central and western part of Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in Hetao Plain. It borders Linhe District in the east, Ulan Buhe Desert in the west and Dengkou County in the west, the Yellow River in the south and Hangjin Banner in Ordos, and Yinshan in the north and Ulat Houqi. The geographical coordinates are 106°34 'to 107°34' east, 40°26 'to 41°13' north, about 87 km long from north to south, about 52 km wide from east to west, and a total area of 1790 square km [28]. Hangjin Houqi is a border minority area with Han nationality as the main body and Mongolian, Hui, Manchu, Dahaner and other ethnic groups living together. According to the seventh census, Hangjin Houqi has a permanent population of 217,573 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.
