Hua'an County, established in 1928, is located in the south of Fujian Province, the northwest of Zhangzhou City, and the middle reaches of the North Stream of the Jiulong River. It is known as the "Pearl of the North Stream". It is one of the coastal open counties in Fujian Province, and also the county with the largest number of Gaoshan compatriots living in the mainland of China. It is the largest production base of forestry commercial timber in southern Fujian, and is the key forestry county in Fujian Province.
