Huanren Manchu Autonomous County, subordinate to Benxi City, Liaoning Province, is located in the mountains in the east of Liaoning Province, connecting Ji'an City, Jilin Province in the east, Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, Dandong City in the south, Benxi Manchu Autonomous County and Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County, Fushun City in the west, Tonghua City, Jilin Province in the north, 189 kilometers away from Shenyang, 460 kilometers away from Dalian, 174 kilometers away from Dandong City, 192 kilometers away from Benxi City, 70 kilometers away from Tonghua City, and 159 kilometers away from Ji'an City. It covers an area of 3547 square kilometers. In 2019, the registered residence population of Huanren Manchu Autonomous County was 287477.

Huanren had human life since the Neolithic Age (more than 6000 years ago), and it belonged to the Yan State during the Warring States Period. Huanren Manchu Autonomous County has Fenglin Valley Forest Park and other scenic spots. The "Beijing rent rice" cultivation system of Huanren Manchu Autonomous County has become "an important agricultural cultural heritage of China".

On June 27, 2016, Huanren Manchu Autonomous County won the honorary title of the third "Model County (City) of Land and Resources Conservation and Intensive". On September 20, 2017, Huanren Manchu Autonomous County was awarded the title of "Hometown of Chinese Ginseng" by the State Forestry Administration. In September 2019, it was selected as one of the first national tourism demonstration areas. In 2019, the GDP of Huanren Manchu Autonomous County was 9836.14 million yuan, the added value of the primary industry was 2117.17 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 2308.99 million yuan, the general public budget revenue was 605.01 million yuan, and the general public budget expenditure was 252.188 million yuan. On October 9, 2020, it was named by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment as the fourth batch of "Green Water and Green Mountains are Jinshan and Yinshan" practice and innovation bases.
