Huozhou City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province, is managed by Linfen City. It is located in the south central part of Shanxi Province and the north part of Linfen City. It is located between Huoshan anticline and Luliang uplift belt. It has a temperate continental monsoon climate, adjacent to five counties, with a total area of 765.39 square kilometers. According to the Records of Unification, Huozhou was named after Huoshan Mountain in the east. In the third year of Jin Zhenyou (1215), Huozhou is now located in the city; In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Huozhou was called Huo County; In December 1989, Huo County was removed from the county to establish Huozhou City; In October 2000, Huozhou City was entrusted by Linfen City. The main scenic spots in Huozhou include Wahuang Temple, Huozhou Drum Tower, Qiliyu Scenic Area, Huozhou Office, and Huozhou Thousand Buddha Cliff. In March 2019, Huozhou City was selected into the "First Batch of Revolutionary Cultural Relics Protection and Utilization Area and County List".
