Jiali County

Jiali County, located in the southeast of Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region of China, is located between Tanggula Mountain and Nianqing Tanggula Mountain in east longitude of 91°09 '-94°01' and north latitude of 31°07 '-32°00'. It is connected to Bianba County of Qamdo City and Bomi County of Nyingchi City in the east, Dangxiong County of Lhasa City, Linzhou County of Lhasa City and Mozhusongka County of Lhasa City in the south, and Biru County in the north. The administrative area is 13,069 square kilometers. The area of farmland is 4,613 mu, and the area of woodland is 342,000 mu. In 2019, the registered population of Jiali County was 40,518. As of November 1, 2020, Jiali County has a permanent population of 38,797.

The rivers in the west of Jiali County belong to the upper river system of Lhasa River, and the rivers in the east belong to the upper river system of Yigong Zangpo River in broad sense.
In terms of climate, the eastern part is special: the warm and humid air of the Indian Ocean flows upstream along the Yigong Zangbo Valley to the southern foot of Nianqing Tanggula Mountains in Jiali County, transporting a large amount of precious water. The eastern part is close to the scenery of Bomi County.

On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce. On February 6, 2019, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region decided to withdraw Jiali County from poverty. In 2019, the GDP of Jiali County was 832.09 million yuan, the added value of the primary industry was 116.53 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 284.23 million yuan, the general public budget revenue was 90.95 million yuan, and the general public budget expenditure was 1536.8 million yuan.
