Jiangkou County, under the jurisdiction of Tongren City, is located in the northeast of Guizhou Province, which is located in the transition of Guizhou Plateau to Xiangxi Hills. Its geographical location is 108°30 '~109°06' east longitude and 27°27 '~27°58' north latitude. It is 52 kilometers long from east to west and 55 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 1869 square kilometers. It is adjacent to Tongren City in the east, Cengong County in southeast Guizhou Prefecture in the south, Shiqian County and Yinjiang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County in the west, and Songtao and Miao Autonomous County in the north. The total area is 1,869 square kilometers. [1] According to the seventh census data, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Jiangkou County was 184,764.
The famous scenic spot Fanjing Mountain is one of China's AAAAA tourist attractions, one of China's five famous Buddhist Mountains and one of China's ten famous Summer mountains. In 2016, Jiangkou County was announced by the National Tourism Administration as the first batch of "National all-region Tourism Demonstration Zone".
On September 25, 2018, the People's Government of Guizhou Province issued a notice saying that it agreed to remove 14 counties (districts), including Jiangkou County, from the poverty-stricken counties. On October 22, 2018, it was selected into the list of leading areas for the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries in the country in 2018. In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of counties under the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. In 2020, the GDP of Jiangkou County reached 7.011 billion yuan, an increase of 4.2% year on year based on comparable prices.
On June 4, 2021, Jiangkou County was listed in the pilot county list of 2021 water system connectivity and Shuimei rural construction.
