Jiaxian County is located in the west of central Henan Province and in the north of Pingdingshan City. Jiaxian County has jurisdiction over 8 towns, 5 townships, 2 sub district offices, 377 administrative villages, and 782 natural villages, with a total area of 737 square kilometers. In 1955, Chairman Mao Zedong wrote a brilliant instruction for Jiaxian County: "The countryside is a vast world, where there can be great achievements."

According to the data of the seventh census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, Jiaxian County has 506377 permanent residents.

Jiaxian is Zhang Liang's hometown. Jiaxian's business card can be summarized as "one county, two heritage sites, four places, four treasures, six villages and six wonders". "One county" refers to a millennium old county. The "two heritages" are two national intangible cultural heritage projects, namely, Jiaxian bronze ware and Yaozhuang gold inlaid jade. The "four places" are the birthplace of the national educated youth culture, the Chinese poetry creation base, the Chinese Tang Jun base, and the "Shanerxi" tobacco base. The "Four Treasures" means that there are four national key cultural relics protection sites, the Sansu Garden (Sansu Temple and Tomb), the resting place of Su Xun, Su Shi, Su Zhe and their sons, the best preserved county-level Confucian temple in China - Jiaxian Confucian Temple, and the important fulcrum of Wanli Tea Road - Jiaxian Shanshan Guild Hall, and Linfeng Village, the first Hongshi Ancient Village in Central Plains. "Six Villages" refer to the hometown of longevity in China, the hometown of Chinese calligraphy, the hometown of Chinese poetry, the hometown of red cattle in Jiaxian County, China, the hometown of Chinese cast-iron pots, and the hometown of Chinese food [46-47]. "Six unique" refers to six unique delicacies, including roast chicken, beef, Hele noodles, tea, three stews and tofu dishes.
