Jingan County, subordinate to Yichun City of Jiangxi Province, is located in the northwest of Jiangxi Province and the north of Yichun City. It is located between 28°46 '-- 29°06' north latitude, 114°55 '-- 115°31' east longitude, adjacent to Anyi County in the east, Fengxin County in the south, Xiushui County in the west, Wuning County in the north and Yongxiu County in the northeast. The maximum transverse distance between east and west of Jing 'an County is 37 kilometers, and the maximum longitudinal distance between north and south is 33.1 kilometers, with a total area of 1377 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, Jing 'an County has jurisdiction over 5 towns and 6 townships, with the county government stationed in Shuangxi Town. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Jing 'an County was 121,800.

Jing 'an County was founded in 937 in the year of Sheng Yuan Yuan in the Southern Tang Dynasty. Many historical and cultural celebrities were born, such as Li Shuzheng, Qing Tian Kuang Zhong, Shu Menglan, the author of Bai Xiang Ci Music. The forest coverage rate of Jing 'an is as high as 84.1%. The Jiuling Peak is 1794.49 meters above sea level, which is the highest peak in northwest Jiangxi. There are Jiuling Mountain Nature Reserve, Sanjava National Forest Park and other tourist attractions.
