Jingyang County

Jingyang County, subordinate to Xianyang City of Shanxi Province, is located in the central part of Shanxi Province, north of Jinghe River and the hinterland of "eight hundred Li Qinchuan". It is the origin of the People's Republic of China. It is bordered by Sanyuan County and Gaoli District in the east, Weicheng District of Xianyang City in the south, across Jinghe River and Liquan County in the west, and adjacent to Chunhua County and Sanyuan County in the north by Beizhong Mountain and Saga Mountain. It has jurisdiction over 1 subdistrict, 8 towns and 148 administrative villages.

Jingyang is located in the north of the Jinghe River. In ancient times, the north of the water was Yang, so Jingyang got its name. Its name first appeared in the Book of Songs. Jingyang County is the place where the Biography of Liu Yi, one of the four great folk legends of China, took place.
