Jinsha County, under the jurisdiction of Bijie City in Guizhou Province. It is located in the northwest of Guizhou Province, east of Bijie City, adjacent to Zunyi in the east, Guiyang in the south, Bijie in the west and Chengdu-Chongqing in the north. It is located in central Guizhou Economic Zone, Chengdu-Chongqing economic Circle and Pan-Pearl Triangle economic Circle, with Hangzhou-Rui Expressway, Chiwang Expressway and Panzhou-Guizhou Express Railway across the county. Jinsha, formerly known as Drum Xinchang, was established in 1941. It is named after the first character of "Jinbaotun" and "Shaxi Bar" within the territory.
