Jinyun County, a county under the jurisdiction of Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the hinterland of southern Zhejiang, the hilly mountains in the middle and south, and the northeast of Lishui. The terrain inclines from east to west. The mountains are roughly bounded by Haoxi. It belongs to the middle subtropical monsoon climate zone. In general, it has sufficient heat, abundant rainfall, warm and humid weather, slightly longer winter and summer, slightly shorter spring and autumn, and distinct four seasons. It has a total area of 1503.52 square kilometers, governing 7 towns, 8 townships, and 3 streets. According to the data of the seventh census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Jinyun County is 405318.

Jinyun County was built in the first year of Wansui Dengfeng (696) in the Wu Zhou Dynasty, named after the ancient Jinyun Mountain in the territory. Jinyun is the name of Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor, the ancestor of the Chinese people. After the county was established, it belonged to Kuozhou. In the 14th year of Dali (779), Kuozhou was changed to Chuzhou, which was subordinate to Chuzhou. In May 1949, Jinyun was liberated and belonged to Lishui District. In 1952, it was changed to Jinhua District. In 1963, it returned to Lishui District. In 1968, Lishui Special District was changed to Lishui District, with the same affiliation. In 2000, Lishui District was changed to Lishui City, with the same affiliation. In July 2019, it won the title of "China Natural Oxygen Bar" in 2019.

In 2020, Jinyun County will achieve a GDP of 24.34 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 5.5%
