Jizhou District/county, belonging to Tianjin, is a county with a history of one thousand years. It is located in the northernmost part of Tianjin, bordering Zunhua City and Yutian County to the east, Sanhe City of Hebei Province to the west, Baodi District of Tianjin City to the south, Xinglong County of Hebei Province and Pinggu District of Beijing to the north, with a total area of 1590.22 square kilometers. By 2018, the registered population of Jizhou District was 872,200. As of October 2021, Jizhou District has jurisdiction over 1 street, 25 towns and 1 township. The district government is located at No. 2 Fuqian Street, Wenchang Street.

Jizhou District, known as Wuend, Yuyang, Jizhou in ancient times. According to "Taiping world record" records: Kaiyuan 18 years, divided Yuyang County, Sanhe County, Yutian County three counties set Thistle state, take the ancient thistle gate to the name of the state. Qin Dynasty, set no end county, belongs to the right Beiping County. Tang, row Yuyang County set no end county (Yutian). Two years of the Republic of China (1913), Jizhou renamed Jixian, a Shun Tianfu. In 1973, it was incorporated into Tianjin. In 2016, Jixian County was abolished and Jizhou District was established.

In 2020, the GDP of Jizhou District reached 22.46 billion yuan, an increase of 0.2%. The added value of the primary industry was 3.415 billion yuan and that of the secondary industry was 4.79 billion yuan. The added value of tertiary industry was 14.255 billion yuan, and the ratio of tertiary industry structure was 15.2:21.3:63.5.
