Joan junction county, belonging to the Tibet autonomous region of the People's Republic of China south city, is located in the southeast of the Tibet autonomous region, south central city. About 28°8 '~ 29°12' north latitude, 90°41 '~ 91°52' east longitude between the total area of 1030 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Qiongjie County was 15,199. By 2022, Qiongjie County has jurisdiction over 1 town and 3 townships: Qiongjie Town, Layu Township, Xiashui Township and Gama Township, and the county people's government is stationed in Qiongjie Town Xueba Community.

In 1989, approved by The State Council, Qiongjie County was renamed Qiongjie County, under the jurisdiction of Shannan District. In January 2016, The State Council agreed to abolish Shannan area and establish prefectural Shannan City, Qiongjie County under the jurisdiction of Shannan City. Qiongjie County is located in the north slope of the Himalayas, the county terrain surrounded by mountains on three sides. There are numerous cultural relics and historic sites, including one national key cultural relics protection unit. In 1961, the tomb of the King of Tibet was declared a national key cultural relics protection unit. It is the largest, highest grade and relatively intact group of tombs in Tibet. In October 2018, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region officially approved the withdrawal of Qiongjie County from poverty. In November 2019, Qiongjie County was named as the national model county of "Sihao Rural Road". In October 2022, Qiongjie County was included in the 2022 National Rural revitalization Model County creation list. In November 2022, Qiongjie County was included in the sixth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration zone list.

In 2021, the gross domestic product of Qiongjie County reached 654.5 million yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 6.8%, the total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 136.59 million yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 8.4%, the per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 18,394 yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 16.2%, and the fiscal revenue reached 32.22 million yuan, with a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%. Tax revenue reached 39.86 million yuan, up 33.4% year on year.
