Kangle County, subordinate to Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Province, is located in the south-central part of Gansu Province, at the southeast end of Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, bordering Lintao County in the east, Weiyuan County and Lintan County in the south, Hezheng County in the west, and Guanghe County in the north, with a total area of 1083 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, Kangle County had jurisdiction over 5 towns and 10 townships. According to the seventh census data, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Kangle County was 255955.
Since the Northern Wei Dynasty, there have been Lanchuan, Anle, Changle, Pond, Dangchuan and other counties in Kangle. Historically, it was under the jurisdiction of Longxi, Didao, Taomin, Hezhou and other prefectures and counties. In 2020, Kangle County's annual GDP reached 2.24 billion yuan, up 3.3% year on year. On February 28, 2020, the People's Government of Gansu Province agreed to withdraw Kangle County from the poverty-stricken county.
