Langkazi County is subordinate to Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is located at the northern foot of the middle Himalayas in southern Tibet, bordering the Kingdom of Bhutan. It is located in the southwest of Shannan City, 227 kilometers away from Zedang Town, Naidong District, Shannan City. It borders Cuomei and Zayang counties in the east, Jiangzi Counties, Kangma Counties and Renbu counties of Shigatse City in the west, Loza County and the Kingdom of Bhutan in the south, and Nimu County of Shigatse City and Qushui County of Lhasa City across the river in the north. The total area is 7969.89 square kilometers, with 36,000 mu of cultivated land and 6.8 million mu of grassland. The perimeter is 25 kilometers long, with an average altitude of 4,500 meters. Jurisdiction over 2 towns, 8 townships, 113 villages. It is the highest county in Shannan City and one of the border counties of Tibet Autonomous Region. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Longkazi county was 32,835.
In 2020, the GDP of Longkazi County, the per capita disposable income of urban residents, and the per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 936.64 million yuan, 40,206 yuan and 14,175 yuan respectively, up by 98.55%, 55.84% and 76.33% in 2015.
On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce. On February 6, 2019, the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region decided to withdraw Longkazi county from poverty.
